Caterpillar celebrated 50 years in the UK back in 2002. Chapter 2 were invited with some machines to the celebrations.
Caterpillar Desford was established in 1952 and was the first major facility outside the United States.
Today, Caterpillar have no fewer than 16 sites in the UK, including the only manufacturing site for ATDs (All Terrain Dumptrucks) in the world.
