ANTIQUE CATERPILLAR MACHINERY PAINT INFORMATION

The information published below has been furnished through a joint effort between Caterpillar Inc. and the Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club. 

ERA 1: MACHINERY MANUFACTURED: JUNE 1925 - DECEMBER 1931

 

"GRAY" COLOR FOR BASE MACHINE: FEDERAL STANDARD 595B-26134 

"RED" COLOR FOR TRIM: FEDERAL STANDARD 595B-11120 

TRADEMARK DECALS: RED LETTERS WITH SILVER BORDER

Note 1 – The FEDERAL STANDARDS refers to paint color standards used in the U.S. The specifications
describe "color" codes, not paint mixing codes. The "color" can be mixed by all paint manufacturers
for any grade of paint desired. Most local paint distributors can obtain the mixing
formulae by consulting their manufacture color code reference center.

 

Note 2 – Color reference "chips" for the above FEDERAL STANDARD color codes can be purchased for
a fee of $5.00 each. To order, specify color code/quantity and send payment to:

Note 3 – Machines manufactured in Peoria, IL and San Leandro, CA used identical gray/red paint colors
