I have a D311 engine number 7S7332 and the pony carb tag reads 5F _527 (I figure the worn number is a 3). When I look it up in the parts catalog it lists 5F8248 as the carburator. Another source lists 5F3527 but not the 5F8248. I'm confused, what gives with this? Thanks.

5F8248 was on the D2's s/n 5U1 - 5U213. Then 5F3527 was on the 5U214 and up. At least my parts book is for 5U1 - 5U13236, so I guess 5F3527 was from 5U214 and up because the book just states 'effective with serial No. 5U214' for the 5F3527 carb.

Arthropod,
My parts book is for 7S5001 - Up and shows 5F8248. I wonder if it had its carb replaced somewhere along the line. Thanks.

You never know with these old machines. A lot can happen in sixty years. I'm sure someone would install whatever was available as long as it would work.

The 5F3527 is the normal RPB (Replaced by) for the 5F8248.
