how do you get rid of the post icons

i would like to turn off the post icons. so how can you turn them off?
i get tired of waiting from them to load up before i can begin to type a message or thread.

I remember a thread a while ago in the support section in relation to slow loading .There is a different screen view you can use for slow connections ,. It gives a no Frills look at the pages that is quicker to load .
