one the pic of the sprocket can anyone tell me what chain pitch it is for?

the 2ND pic is of a cover under the pup motor, is this where the electric starter bolts on.

Yes, on the starter mount.
I don't recognize that sprocket part number. How many teeth does it have?

Its not a Cat sprocket rim, the easiest way to find out pitch is to give us the link part number-if you have the chains.

28 tooth on the D6 is a 6.75" pitch sprocket. (non hunting tooth)

Even tooth sprockets are non hunting tooth. Means the same bushings hit the same teeth of the sprocket. To get full wear of all the sprocket teeth somewhere in the life of the chain it will need to be jumped one tooth to distribute the wear.
Odd number tooth sprockets are hunting tooth. The chain automatically advances from tooth to tooth to distribute the wear.
