I am a new member. I obviously am having trouble learning how to use the BB. I live in remote western Montana where there is little work so I have gone into recycling for income. When wood comes in demand I have logged but then I have to go do something to pay the logging expenses. Anyways I come across alot of dozers and have fixed a couple D4 7U's. I have one D4 and a RD7(that has been a thorn is my flesh for 5 years) right now. I found your site and thought I had to join the membership to get to the BB. I did not mind as the site looks great! I had to wait a couple days for a payday (30 bucks is alot to us bottom feeders) but when I went to join I found that the BB is free. Well I went to join the membership and put my credit card in and pushed enter it asked for my card info again. I don't need 2 memberships so I decided to wait and see. Well, I can't get out of the BB and into members area. I don't know why. I don't know if I am a member or not.

I am in St Regis. I have a brother-in-law in Post Falls who reconditions computers. I go over and help him all the time. I go right past you.

Hi,

If you give a call to 309/691-5002, Kathy or Tricia can confirm your membership. They can also help with your website questions. They are at the club office in Peoria, Illinois.

Just wondering, for the past week or so all the newest members list that are displayed are people that are banned! Have they been banned at an earlier date or are they new and banned daily?

The spammers keep trying every day .. they never stop. As soon as they are banned and deleted, they come back with new registrations, new names, and new, conniving methods.

I alerted Joe B. they were using Jan 1, 1980, continously as a birthdate on ACME, so Joe looked more closely at new members with that date, and slammed the door on them. Then they woke up, and started using variations in birthdates, so a few got through.

It's a constant war with these a$$holes, who probably don't have a real life, but have nothing else to do, but to try and spam as many sites as possible in the shortest time. They probably sit on a computer 18-20 hrs a day. It's a real challenge, as they see it, and they also probably get paid on the number of sites they can spam.

All we can do, is be 100% vigilant and notify Joe or a moderator, the instant you see a spam post appear. It's like graffitti, you have to wipe it, the instant it appears, so they get discouraged and go elsewhere. The best part is, that with a wordwide user base, there's always an ACMOC member or regular user on the BB, so the spammers can be picked up immediately. They love the sites that are poorly moderated and where no-one ever removes their crap.

An on-going battle it is, but our ever-watchful Walt Cheatham ("Walt D7-3T") is on the case. Thanks be to him! GWH

George,

Thanks for the "pat on the back", however I want everyone to know I am not doing this for the recognition (George, you somewhat embarassed me). I am pleased that I can help (at least try to anyway) keep this BB as safe and clean as I can.

Just so you all know I have a great benefit in that I work second shift and when I get home is when most of these new "CRAP HEADS" show up. That fact is because the are coming from China. Obviously it is their daytime there.

ALSO, everyone, please be aware that George and Joe are on the case too.

In all modesty, Walt

How does one go about paying for membership with using a ATM or credit card? I'm a retired disabled vet and don't use em.
