Hello all,
I recently bought the 2B2108 Sleeve, the 3B1027 Screw and the 3B1028 Nut to pull the Plugs from the master pin on my D2/3J. This is what the Service manual says to use in pulling the plugs from the master pin. Turns out the 3B1027 Screw (1/2-20) and Nut is the "WRONG" size for removing the plugs. I needed a 3/8-24 thread bolt and nut which I used to pull them out with. Did Cat make a mistake when printing the repair manual? I believe the screw and nut are to be used on the D4 plugs, at least that's what the repair manual for the D4/7U says. Can't believe Cat would make a mistake like this.:(

Hi Dozerman51,
from my earliest "Service Tools" booklet form no 7285 sixth edition 1 May 1942 shows the following items for the then current machines.
Hope this helps as Yellow Father sometimes get's it wrong, just as we all do at times.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

Hello Eddie,
Thanks for the info. I bought the repair manual from Gensales 5 years ago. Since then I have heard mixed results about their quality. Perhaps they put the D4 page in by mistake in the D2 book. :)
