I have looked through my parts catalog, service and operators manuals time and time again. The parts catalog for my D42T lists it as a plug #2B7410...what maintenance, if any, do I need to watch out for with this into what I beleive is the distributor gear at the front side of the MAG.

Thanks in advance-

2B7410 is a pipe plug in the pony top manifold used for checking the timing mark on the mag drive gear. No maintenance required.

Thanks OM-that's a handy thing to know. I did not use it when I timed the replacement MAG I installed a few months ago. Just the mark on the MAG itslef and also flywheel. I must have gotten lucky.

Do any of the manuals or books describe that view port? I have gone through all of them pretty thouroughly and do not recall seening it.

Thanks again-you are a big help.

Check the Service Manual for the 4-1/4 x 4 cylinder engine.
Instructions on alignment of timing marks for the starting engine.
On my repro copy it is page 101.

OK-I see where the "plug" is mentioned. Did not notice it before since I did not time the camshaft gear. Went with the flywheel and lined up the marks on the Eisemann and away she went...got lucky!

Thanks OM-I have two Servicemans Ref Manuals and the one I have with me now, Form 30523-1, describes that on page 101.
