Hi All,

I have had to rebuild the clutch in my 955-12A and I am at the stage of connecting the linkages back up and adjusting the clutch and clutch brake.

a member had sent me a proceed, but the brake shoe and adjustment appears to be a newer style as mine does not have "Brake Loading Spring"

What I am in need of is the procedure to adjust the clutch brake so that I have proper tension when the clutch engagement lever is pressed forward.

Thanks

You've come a long way, hope it goes well.
To adjust:
1. Place the flywheel clutch lever in the released position.
2. Loosen the lock nut behind the yoke on the brake operating rod.
3. Take out the cotter pin and remove the pin.
4. Turn the threaded portion of the operating rod so that the brake lining just touches the brake drum after the rod is installed.
5. Replace the pin & cotter, tighten the lock nut.

Old Magnet,

thank you, yes it has taken a while (a lot of other porjects on the go), but we are getting close.

I appreciate the steps, I will follow them to adjust the brake..

one more thing... what do you use to turn the adjustable part of the clutch to adjust it ?? the steps that I have simply says "use the slots as provided"...

thanks again

No special instructions, the adjusting ring should not be that tight once the two clamps are backed off.....maybe a little light prying.

Do not overtighten the clamping bolts. If you strip the threaded plate you will have major dismantle to repair. Suggested torque is about 35 ft lbs.
