View Full Version : Control Handle Grip rejuvenation or repair
Working on a Twenty that has control handle grips that are kinda pithy. What are some methods for rejuvenating the grips on these early gas tractors? If needed, what material would be used to create new ones?
Thanks
Bob
Bob, they are hard enough you can either use GOOD body filler or epoxy for flexable bumper repair or something like Lord Fusior. The ones on the Twenty I am working on was in good shape exept that had some scratchs and have been painted over. I have repaired many a cracked steering wheel on wheeled tractors using the epoxy first to fill the major cracks and then a fine layer of body filler to give it the finsh coat before prime and painting.

No complaining on titles here.

The steering and clutch control handles are a common part to a lot of newer tractors and are avaible from cat. The old ones are very sharp on the tip of the metal in side of the composition handle and have caused nasty cuts in hands. Ron Meeder
