Hi, bought this 955h with locked motor, picked it up the other day but had alot of trouble loading from the rear of hyster because I was curious to see how the new winch installation went. We put a 30,000 lb tulsa hydraulic on it, this 955 is much heavier than normal, six smaller counter weights of 3 to 5 hundred lbs each and one big one that is 30 inchs by 49 inchs and is 4 inchs thick, has heavy rops and side dump bucket. I thought base weight on 955 was around 34,000. This thing feels more like 40,000, how far off am I ? Thanks for any guesstimates. will add more close up photos shortly

Hello you all,

Hello you all,
I am about to replace the turbo non my CAT 922A S/N 59A1987 as it burns oil and replace the ferrules and head gasket as it occasionally leaks some water out of the head gasket, especially when it has run only short not reaching the operating temperature.
As it smokes I might also renew the injectionnozzles.
My book says Service group 5M2788 which has been changed into 3S6638 which contains a 2S4442 nozzle.
If i read other posts on this subject I find 2S4442 nozzles to be correct for non turboed engines where mine does have a turbo.
So I am confused now although I tend to go by the book and use the 3S6638 service group.
Who can bring some clarity here?
All reactions wellcome.

Thanks
Nico

Just bought my first dozer - Allis Chalmers HD-11. I know this isn't the Allis forum, but was looking it over today and the blade has a Allis-Chalmers tag on it (Model 11-GD, Serial 2232), but the c-frame has a part number of 5F746 or perhaps 6F746. To me that looks like a CAT number. What do the experts think?

I posted this earlier on the For Sale site, did not realize I was there when I posted it!

Trying to replace the seals around the drive shaft on my #44 hyd pump ser #6W12536. I have the unit off and have also pulled the pump from the unit. I have a copy of the page from a parts book showing the parts detail so at least I can see what they look like

My question is can the "Retainer" part #4F3964, which appears to hold the seal, be removed by just taking out the 4 cap screws? Or do I have to dismantle the whole pump?

I have tapped on it with a chisel to try and get it free and then I tapped a little harder. It does not seem to have budged at all. The pump seems fine so I would rather not take it all to pieces if I do not have to.

Thanks for any advice, randy
