    Default Installing new rails

Starting putting the new rails on my D2. Tracks off one side. Need to replace one roller. Had to take three links off the rails so they were 30 links. Several hours of hard work today with sledges and homemade drift. I have one rail ready to go on. Will use the pony to walk the rails in place. Save that for another day since I am tired this evening.

I like the drift holder that you got! Sure beats asking someone to hold it!

Thanks. Ha, yeah, can't find anyone crazy enough to hold the drift, so had to weld up something. Works good enough. Need to think of a better holder. I ended up holding the drift at the start and pounding one handed with my 8lb sledge. Once I had the pin down a little way, then I could swing away with the 16lb sledge. One more rail needs three links removed, then I'm good to go. I have a roller coming from Florin that should be in this week. They sure were nice to deal with.

One of my parts machines had track guards on it. I took those off and will put them on this machine. But all my parts rollers have dry rot seals. Florin had some of the seals, so they are on the way too. Should be a very good undercarriage once done.
