Thanks to all who helped in curing the powershift trans problem on the D4D, its seems to be doing well now. On to the next problem, to much peddle pressure on the brakes and slipping steering clutchs. Discovered compartment with over a gallon of black oil in it and nothing in the right final. Washed it once with fuel and took out alot of black oil but still alot of nasty crud sticking to the case walls. Not very satisfactory. I'm thinking I should pressure wash it, hit it with the fuel again and then use solvent to get rid of the fuel, it takes seven gallons to get 2 inchs above the bottom of the brakes. Also the factory book says do not open the clutchs when washing but I've read some people do, if you do not open the clutchs how do you get all the oil out when washing ? I'm open to suggestions here. Thanks
