    Default No 25 CCU Query - Handle & Rod Arrangement and D6 9U update

    I'm uncertain on the lever handle, collar & rod arrangement on my 32E series CCU, as these items were missing when I brought the CCU.

    Unfortunately the exact serial number for the unit can't be distingushed, but looking at the parts book it must be above 32E373 as it has 2 shafts mounted on a block on the RH of the tower assembly, as opposed to the single shaft on the earlier models.

    The attached picture shows the CCU.

    Can anyone post a picture of a similar CCU?

    The attached pictures show the current state of play on my 9U restoration. I'm aiming to have it ready, for it's first outing at the Castle Cement working weekend at Ketton on 23 / 24 June 2007. The CCU is the last big item to complete.

    Default My Workshop

    My workshop consists of a corner in a field at a friend's farm. If it's raining or snowing I have to make do working under the tarpaulin.

    Your D6 is looking good. That one was a rough recovery.
    See you recovered the loss of at least the rear half of the belly pan. Sorry I can't help you with pictures of the 32E CCU. They did have em for the 9U and apparently they evolved from the #25 to the #125 and #126. Just don't see them around much, most are the older 9D501-up units.

    Sharp tractor!. I especially like the exposed radiator and braces vs the usual hardnose.

    The CCU looks like it uses the same levers on each position since it already has a taller base under the one for the left drum. I haven't seen one with two levers on it in a while. Had a lever here a while back that was especially tall, must have been for a BIG tractor, not the 9U

    How did you prep and paint it? It looks really good. Be a shame to get it dusty

    A neighbor of mine has a complete sandblasting and painting setup on a truck and he gets all kinds of old paint from clearing out closed manufacturing plants and buildings etc. This combination of painting equipment, surplus paint and man results in some strange looking equipment more often than not.

    OM - luckily I was able to locate replacement crankcase guards, without too much trouble from Robert Wilson (Chapter 2 Chairman). I deliberately now avoid leaving any loose items down on the farm, to save anything else from getting stolen.

    Eddie B - thanks for the picture from the OMI, but it looks like it shows the earlier version with only a single shaft mounted on the outside of the tower? I do have a Parts Book, but for some reason it's not very clear on the actual arrangement.

    ccjersey - thanks for the comments about my paintwork. Owing to equipment limitations and my open air workshop, I've just been brush applying the paint both insitu on the farm and on smaller items in my garage at home. I've been following a 7 coat application: 1 primer, 3 cat buff primer\undercoat and 3 cat old yellow topcoats. Initially I was using a 4 1/2" grinder with a steel cup brush and or flap disc's to remove the rust \ old paint, but more recently to save time I've sent the items off to a local shot blasting company.

    Default Black smoke at ketton

    Hi Dave your tractor looks really good ,a credit to you and john especially working from that old indian workshop!Hope to see plenty of black smoke at our ketton do.The setting for our AGM was very good although the lack of members was dissapointing.look forward to seeing your tractor and others at ketton.cheers.sprocket

    Hi David,
    Does your parts book show an outside mounting block like you have........thinking that may be a custom made piece.....doesn't look like typical Cat unit.
