Thats a tee-handle socket wrench for removing the fuel injection valves on a D17000 engine. 1-7/8 in. size.

Looks to me like the later style injector wrench for D2/D4 J series, not nearly as strong as the earlier type

I bow to Old Magnets superior knowledge, did the D17000 have a different size
    nut to the D2/D4?

Checked a little furthur.....although my Cat Tool Guide calls out 7B-4973 for the D17000 application another source indicates the 1-7/8 in. size also fits the 5-1/4, 5-3/4, and 6-1/8 in. bore engines.

    The D3400, 4400 and 4600 3-3/4 and 4-1/4 in. bores use the 9B2029 1-3/4 in. wrench size.

Speaking of 6-1/8 in bore, I don't have hardly any info. My engine list shows a D9900 4-cyl engine with this bore and 9-1/4 in. stroke and 1090 cubic inch displacement. Anybody know more about this unit? Doesn't even show up in the Rack Setting Chart Manuals I have.

Thanks Old Magnet and shovel man..................I guess it won't have an application for my D311 in my D2. Guess I'll see if someone here with bigger equipment would be interested in the wrench.
    Thanks again !
    Have a good evening..........Bill

Unless you're selling it to a friend, get enough for it, being new and purty!

I split a borrowed on (smaller size for the D2) about 25 years ago. The replacement for it set me back about $80 then. I welded up the split one and it's still in my tool box. You don't throw that platinum alloy(?) stuff away.
