    Default D7-17a tilt blade with No hyraulic unit?

    I was Nosing around on machinery trader and was looking at a machine that had a cable blade but had hydraulic tilt. it had no front mounted unit like my No.46 on it. Hoses were run down the left side of the engine and went under the platform as far as I could tell. I tried to go back and find a link but cannot find it today.

    I am just wondering how they did this? it had the cable unit on the back so no pto pump. did they tap into the steering clutch pump?

    I would like to have a tilt blade but dont believe it can be done on a No. 46 so however they did this would work on mine as well I'd think

    Back in the day there was a #44 hydraulic control unit that could be mounted on the front of the 17a behind the grill. They were normally a two valve and those are the control reach rods in the guard going down the LH side.
    Looks like it has been set up for one valve and I can see the empty hole in the guide block where the other one went.
    The system was originally part of the Gyro dozer option for the D7. Pretty rare stuff.

    The more I stared at it I got to wondering if that was the case

    so I am guessing there is no two valve option for a No.46 so in turn there is no real good way to have a hydraulic tilt blade on my machine then without a pto pump which i would prefer not to do because I would like to find a cable unit and a pull scraper someday.........

    No option on the #46, not factory anyway.
    There is still the possibility of front driving a pump but it would be a custom built affair.

    There was even an electric drive screw tilt cylinder in the day, what a morfidite that was.

    I wonder if this is a later blade from a D7E, the D7E, D8H and D9G machines were available with cable control and the hydraulic tilt driven from the transmission pump, using the tranny as a reservoir? The pump location here is a mystery though.
