    Default D69u17225 / No.25 CCU questions

Still cleaning up the "new d6" and need to know the oil type for the No. 25 CCU. Also I have one upper roller that looks like it got stuck at one time from debris or something and it has some flat spots. Can it be welded and turned down or would it be too hard and cause wear on the links? I will also need some parts for the left side of the winch if someone has a parts unit . Thanks in advance !

Larry you can weld up the roller take it off and just try and weld it up trying to make it as round as you can. It will wear in no need to turn. I welded up a set of D8 top rollers dont let them get to hot. Razz. I think the 25 unit takes 30 weight oil .

    30wt is correct.
Carrier rollers can be either cast iron shell or forged shell.
The cast iron units are considered not rebuildable.

Thanks Razz and OM. Looks like I need a roller or two.I figured I could weld them but the links are in great shape as is the rest of the under carriage and I would not want to hurt anything.Don't really know what happened to the roller to cause it to get the flat spots .It turns freely and has done so since I have owned it but who knows what it has been through. The only thing I can figure is someone let it get clogged up to the point it wouldn't turn.
