955K brass shavings in steering clutch oil filter
I have a 1968 955K 61H track loader. I was changing the fulids and filters and found some brass shavings in the steering clutch oil filter housing. The brass material looks like a short curly hairs, not like anything is grinding. The steering case oil is use for the diff, steering clutches and brakes. Last time I saw anything like this was from a trans brake lining from my old Ford 4000 SOS transmission. So it this coming from my brake linings? If so, does this mean they are shot and need replaced?
Anything else in there with brass?
Thanks,
Muzz
