    Default Upcoming models

Who does know which models will come on 2012? Is there the DS 21 in scale 1:25? I am a german model collector and builder and I am expecting for new models.

From what i have read here on the forum ,I would say it is very unlikely that a DW21 will be built in the near future .

With almost $600,000 worth of unsold inventory, certainly hope there won't be any more for a long while.

Thumb If they reduced the very high profit they sell a lot more also

It seems the MODELS are the sole supporter of the club, so as expenses rise they have an increasingly high profit on models. Even the promotion they did
last year with the levelers and the R2 left ALOT of profit for the club; too bad a bunch of Christmas' are still waiting to be fulfilled in April!!! In spit of the fact that these dragged 1/3 of the way into 2012, I think they should try to do at least ONE new model a year!!!!!!

    Default Wow

    WOW,

To expect the club to be responsible for the bad economy, and responsible for the US postal hich costs are asking a lot out of a little club, don't you?

    bruce,

that might be possible if the postage cost was the same for every product but it is not.
to send something two states away is very different than sending it to somewhere like India.
Another factor is the fact that postage cost is continuing to rise just like everything else.
On the other hand if you know of a way to ship these items for one low cost anywhere in the world for any given year,
please send one of the directors a message.
Thanks for sharing your concerns and ideas.

I think the warehousing might be the issue. I believe the individual manufacturer of each model warehouses them for ACMOC. They are drop shipped to the customer. For example if you bought a Speccast R2 and a First Gear D9 they are shipped fom different locations.

Maybe a director can chime in on that.

The way its done now is the storage and shipping is part of our manufacture price, They store it and ship it as we sell them and the postage is high, but its all done inhouse at the indavidual manufactures and they dont seem to shop for good prices on the shipping.
You send 1 check to our office you get one tractor shipped from one manufacture you get the other model shipped from another manufacture if they were made by diff manufactures.
We had 5000 toys at a couple diff manufatcures that were never ever seen by an ACMOC person and last year over some concerns we actually had someone go look at them in person to make sure they existed .

But the only alternitive is to do like we did in old days store them in this guys garage, that guys barn and have our staff box them up and ship them. In the end a couple hundred models grew legs and ran away and that was a giant loss also, so as pricey as it seems, to have them handle the whole thing. I think its still much better then the old way. It pretty sad when the comperable model of our todays toy R2 cost more to ship out of the country then the first model cost to buy.
I think you will see us in the near future change from making toys to maybe 1 realease a yr at our national show and more things that can be used by our members in restoration like gauges. manuals and things that were common to many diff machines. George Louge has stopped making stuff and has donated to ACMOC all his patterns and molds so we need to start something with them so we have the stuff that he used to sell avail. to our members again.
In the past the toy business was good to us when we sold them for $30,$40,$50 range we put 1/2 Mil. in the bank, but with the bigger more expensive models and bad choices, topped off with bad economy have us to the point we can't pay to have another model made til we sell some of our inventory.
The D9s,DW20s and Scrapers have us so far in the hole that its safe to say you wont see anything thing like them for years to come and
We cant even find a fool out there who is willing to use their money for upfront cost and sell a limited one of akind machine and give us a percentage
A big issue is we have BoD members who want to lower the price to dump some of the inventory, others like myself oppose that idea because we already sold many to our members at the higher price. I say if we drop the price we have to give back the diff to those who bought at the high price.

Id like to know how those of you who bought them a month in advance and had to wait another couple months from the promised delv time would feel if we started selling them at a much lower price?? or the dealer who bought 200 from us thinking that the current price is what he got for buying 200 but now he can buy them for less then his orig. discounted price?? How many 200 advanced orders do you think he will make again? I think that would be sending message not to buy early just hang out til they get hurtin and lower the price.

. But looking on 4000 and another 5000 soon to come sitting in storage is not a good sight either.

At the rate we have sold toys past couple years we have enough on the shelf for us to sell 30 yrs if we never made another one.
The old toy business just aint what she used to be. And its not all to be blamed on the economy.
