    Default radiator conversion d2

    does anyone know if a radiator core from a d2 u series will interchange with a j series ?

    I'm going to tell you NO because a "U"-series has the oil cooler built into the core verses a "J"-series has a separate oil cooler.

    Yes, The U series core is narrower because the oil cooler is next to it. J series oil coolers are in front of the radiator core and the core is the full width of the radiator shell.

    I don't know if the whole radiator assemblies can be converted from U series to J series or not.

    J series tractors had a soldered construction radiator, not the bolted together type found in the U series. However, I have a 5J with a bolted radiator on it, so the whole thing will fit. I think it was done to make it easier to mount a #44 hydraulic control on it.

    With the bolted type radiator, you can get a full width core and do away with the oil cooler if you 're not interested in authenticity.
