    Default Always enjoy!

It always amazes me that those scrapers don't just wad up in a ball when they put that much weight and power
behind them pushing! You would think that a big rock or something would totally destroy the scraper with that
    kind of load on it.

I tried pushing my scrapers with three dozers. Pick up, push down, put blades in float, didn't matter, it seemed the dozer in the middle was getting "carried" and didn't add enough to the push to really make it worth while.

I've seen CAT pans with the bottom rolled out like a sardine can and old hinge bottom EUC's with the sides sucked in and the moldboard in a "V".

Rock work is rough on everything.

I remember guys telling me that operated scrapers in the
West Virginia mountains and hills loading shot rock, that they had
to put the trans in neutral while loading.

They would use two D9's working together to push the pan with.

The Company would paint a big white mark on the front,
and back tires on both sides which could be seen a long way off.

If the boss saw one tire turning faster than the other while they
were loading thy knew they had to be in drive, and they were
spinning the wheels cutting up tires in the rock,
and they were fired right there on the spot.

If you notice in this video some of the scrapers
have painted wheel and most don't.
The ones with painted well usually work in shot rock jobs.
The others without painted wheels work in dirt.
