    Default TWENTY Brake Boot

Attached is a photo of a freshly installed leather brake boot on a large TWENTY. The boot, from John Hahn, was a perfect fit (correct length and diameter). John's leather kit includes brake boots, governor control boot, and equilizer spring boots.

Kent, does John give guidance on how to care for the leather parts? I'm thinking a clean and dubbin every so often.

I've seen paint on a lot of boots. Was that practice when these old CATs were new? I also have a set of boots/seat from John Hahn and want to treat them right. Ray

    Default Boots

I believe that John had told me that he soaks them in linseed oil to keep them pliable.
