Default Radiator Stolen from my Cat model 12...

Boy am I pissed! Some S.O.B. helped themselves to a radiator from myCat Model 12 Road Grader serial number 6M-17. It is a rare gas powered model. I have alerted the local Sheriffs department here in Columbia County NY and have offered a $200 dollar reward for its return. It was taken sometime this week from my home here in Craryville NY. If anyone has any leads please call the Sheriff at (518) 325-3344 or PM me. Thanks, Dave!

Sorry to hear that. I'd be looking for it at your local scrapyards for sure!

    Dave,
I agree with Rich, start calling around to local scrap yards. I'll keep an eye out for it. Ray

Yeah, I'm going to get back my old account with Megans help. My email changed a while back and I could not get into the account to change it. Thanks Fellows. Dandy Dave!

I've upped the reward to $500 to try and make sure it is more than scrap value. Anyone have any information please let me know. Thanks, Here is a link to a Craigs List photo. http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/wan/3042171639.html

Just curious,is the gas model radiator different from the diesel model 12?Looking at the picture it looks a lot like the one on my 7T model 12 diesel.

From what I have found the gas model has longer side pieces, and I believe a longer core with an oval shaped hinged radiator cap. My radiator was about 40 inches tall, and 30 inches wide. It is the early one with eight bolts that hold it to the engine front.

Top and bottom tank part numbers are, Top tank, 1A8426, Bottom tank, 6B3069, (Side) Plate, Right hand. 4B1831, (side) Plate, LH 4B1832. Radiator Cap cover is, L780. The filler neck is L779. If the top and bottom interchange, I've been wondering if I could lengthen a pair of diesel sides and then have a core made, and also modify the fan shield. I called my local Cat dealer and asked him to search the vintage parts network for anything. Or, if nothing else, could they somehow provide me with copys of the original bue prints so that I could at least have the dimensions. From center of the water inlet, to the center of the water outlet it is 35 inches on my motor. Thanks, Dave!
