From what I have found the gas model has longer side pieces, and I believe a longer core with an oval shaped hinged radiator cap. My radiator was about 40 inches tall, and 30 inches wide. It is the early one with eight bolts that hold it to the engine front.
Top and bottom tank part numbers are, Top tank, 1A8426, Bottom tank, 6B3069, (Side) Plate, Right hand. 4B1831, (side) Plate, LH 4B1832. Radiator Cap cover is, L780. The filler neck is L779. If the top and bottom interchange, I've been wondering if I could lengthen a pair of diesel sides and then have a core made, and also modify the fan shield. I called my local Cat dealer and asked him to search the vintage parts network for anything. Or, if nothing else, could they somehow provide me with copys of the original bue prints so that I could at least have the dimensions. From center of the water inlet, to the center of the water outlet it is 35 inches on my motor. Thanks, Dave!
