Default Help Wanted Union Operators In North Bay Area Ca.

    Hey Gang,

If any body knows of some good hands, I'm looking for some Paver, Screed, Hot Roller, and Excavator Operators. In a month or so, I'll need a few dirt stiffs, Dozer and Double enders-27's. We are located in Petaluma, Ca. We are working in about a 50 mile radius currently. PM me if interested.-glen

    Glen,
What exactly does a 'dirt stiff'do?
I've never heard of that term before.

    Default Dirt Mover

    Hey David,

Many, many, years ago, that was a term I grew up hearing all the time. Before the days of spring or air seats, before cushion hitches, many operators got stiff from moving dirt. Now a days, our new generations have become spoiled with all extras, like, AC, Air seats or spring seats, stereo's, cushion hitches, Air cushioned cabs, air ride suspension, big horse power, cruise controll, computer guided equipment such as laser, sonar, gps, averaging skies, and all the gizmo's. I get shocked when I hire a teamster, and he has never driven double stick trannies. I sent a operator back to the hall once, because he never used a clutch before. It's a differant world.-glen

What does the job pay. I am an IUOE local 150(Chicago) operator and I can drive a truck with twin sticks. Learned on a B model with a Quad box.

    Default What's a'clutch'?

    Hi, Glen.
    What's a 'clutch'?

Hey, M8, I'm almost tempted apply for immigration - - - - - - but your winters are too cold for this LBD. And I'm not in your union either.

Good to hear that you're getting some work and I hope you get the good men that you need.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes.

Pops, if you pay me twice as much as I pay myself, I'll come work for you and F everything up

Red wants to know if you need a safety supervisor? She don't charge much.
