    Default Registered user.

Old Magnet - edb has got it basically correct.

Anyone from the internet can find, navigate and read anything posted on here. They can't post anything and can't see any attachments, though. They only see a placeholder piece of text which tells them something is attached.

Registration is free and only requires selection of a unique username and the supplying of an email address so that a confirmation email can be sent and acknowledged. This step keeps out about 90% of the spammers and is manually maintained by Walt D7-3T for us. Once the confirmation email is responded to, the user's account is active, they can see attachments when they login and they are able to post, if they like. No money is involved. The only people who have storage allocated for attachments are registered users. Guests can't see the attachments, can't post and therefore don't need any storage.

For now, this is the only distinction between bulletin board users, a user is either a guest or a registered user. With the upgrade to our databases, we expect to be able to automatically accept contributions restricted for use in maintaining the bulletin board, whether or not the contributor is a Club member, have those contributions activate a flag below their username if the user desires, and possibly provide other premium services to the paid user, or Club member.

    Pete.

    What????
Better read that one again. Appears edb can view and post without being a payed member. Not that I object to his posting/viewing. Just trying to verify the policy.

    OK, got it, thanks.
So what's the incentive to become a payed member?

There is none Pete, that is why we have 14,000 Registered Members of the Forum paying not even one dime a year enjoying a free ride paid for by just 2,900 Financial Members like you and I, except "edb" of course, but he more than pays for his free cup of ACMOC every day I know everyone will agree.
    Regards
    Mike
