Anyone know of a good source for aftermarket brake parts? I want to save "some'' money on a brake job for my 1969, 120 14k series grader.

Mark,
look around for a clutch and brake rebuilder. We have one in Birmingham, AL called Automotive Friction. They can usually get direct replacement linings etc or if nothing else is available, they can get bulk lining material, cut to size and drill, countersink and rivet it on the shoes.
When we did the 212, the linings were no longer available from CAT to replace the one that had sloughed off. Since I needed only one shoe redone, we did the cutting, drilling and riveting here. It wasn't cheap, seems like around $60 for the materials.
D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time
Thanks...I know Cat. has all the parts available but i was looking to beat their price. I was looking for all the parts...cylinders, adjusting ''stars'' etc.
I understand that Bendex made these brake parts. Can anyone confirm that?
I would be very interested in aftermarket brake parts, as my 120 could also use a brake job... bad. If they are standard bendex parts you might want to try napa or other automotive suppliers. Hopefully I will get time to work in it this winter, no brakes makes it exciting backing off the lowboy.![]()
