Does anybody know the specs on a D47J pony, cubic inches and horse power? Also, where can I access some info on rebuilding and assembly specs?
Thanks

The bore is 2.750" & the stroke is 3" so to get the cu. in. use pi (3.1416) & multiply by the radius squared 1.375" for the bore & multiply by the stroke 3" then by two for two cylinders.I haven,t any HP specs but someone might have a manual to gve you more tips. They aren,t too complicated to work on. Valves get set .007" to 010" clearance cold.Crank (std.) is 1.812" on mains & 1.750" for rod journals.
The pony motor (D2's &D4's) are rated 10 hp @ 3,000 rpm.
Best source for specs and instructions are the Servicemens Reference Manuals for the various engines. For the D4 either the D4400 or D315 engines.
Hi Team,
scans below from the SRB, form 7490B, 11-43.
Cheers,

Thanks for the helpful tech specs! At this point I am searching for rod bearings, .010, but may need .020 depending on what crankshaft ends up at. Std. rings seem to be no big problem. Would replace mains if I could locate some. Do you know of any sources for these pony parts ?? Bob
Sure, try Cat!
Give Florin Tractor in Sacramento a try, they have a good stock of ner parts for the old Cats
