The first thing you have to do is drain the diesel cooling system & then unbolt the supports from the diesel block & the water lines etc. & it should be about all that holds it on and then it just pulls out of the diesel bell housing. You,ll need to use a chain hoist or something to lift it out but it has to be pulled straight out till the pinion assem. clears the bell housing. The gas line will need removing too and you,ll need some chain or strapping around the body of it to lift it out. At the shop we had a bracket that bolted on the side of the block near the top & a bracket welded on it at right angles toward the spark plug holes and it made it easy to hook the crane to.This is for the 4 cyl.diesel engine on the D7 or the 6 cyl. like the D8s & D9s had too and other engines using that same type starting engine.

yes you have to drain the radiator first and remove the font water pipe poney and the exhaust and water pipe in back motor poney and disconnect the center bracket with 3 bolts under the poney and disconnect the front bracket
and remove the magneto to make sure not broking and turne the poney on side frame and slide it in front and dont foget to installed a chaine to hold it.
