    Default By-pass oil filter question

I just finished servicing engine on a 9U D6 serial # low 13000 on engine it has by-pass filters, but my parts book shows they went to full flow filters at 9U7424. Did Cat use by- pass filters after that or did I read the parts manual wrong.

As you stated Cat went to full flow filters at s/n 9U7424 and ended use of the previous by-pass filters.

Sounds like someone had a better idea! Since the parts were readily available to convert from bypass to full flow, there should have been plenty of the originals available to convert back.

    Default by-pass

My basic question is why would anyone convert back to an older filter system, or did Cat find some unused by-pass filter systems in there stock and install them in later tractors.
