    Default Leaning wheel grader...maybe

So I spied a leaning wheel grader an hour or so from me.
Its for sale at a not known price ( don't you just hate that )
Its listed as built in 1898, but i don't quite believe that part.
Looks to have rubber tires mounted to an original type wheel.
And the caterpillar name on it.

    Hi, Snowshoveler.
    So, WHY?????????????????????

WHY is it still there???????????? Instead of in your yard already??????????????????????????

Looks pretty good in that photo.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes.

That is a very good question Deas.
My Lady has already given her approval of the possible purchase.
The pics show it to be in usable condition.
I guess it will depend on the price required to purchase it.
I would be okay with 500 dollars maybe.
But you know how this goes...with an unlisted price the owner probably wants 5000 for it.
I could probably make a little cash with it to support the purchase if priced reasonable.
    Regards Chris

1898 would be a patent date not the mfg date.
Rubber wheels was a factory option so the unit is not as old as one may be lead to believe cause of the patent date.
We can provide a more accurate mfg date if a serial number could be provided. You are welcome to look here for more info: http://www.chriscomachinery.com/PullGraders.htm

Based on the picture alone I would guess it to be a model 35.

Tbrown42 posted that same grader for sale oct 2018 in sale/wanted section. Several folks told him it was not 1898 but the post had no reply from him. no price there either. You may try a PM to him.

Looks like a 35 to me also. It seems complete. I do question that the rubber option is original, not that it wasn't offered in rubber but all I ever see is steel tire wheels that have the outer cut off and grafted to a modern rim, with varying degrees of success.
