Hi every one new look after a long wait.
Question on this 3400 g engine i am working on. do i need to know anythig special about puting in the sleeves with new o rings and copper seals.
Do they just press in by hand
Do i do anything but grease on the o rings
    All advise is welcome

    Default Liners

If I were doing it first drop the liner in each bore without the seals & but with the copper shim on & check the liner height above the block with some pressure against & it should be not less than .002" and up to maybe 006" and also see if the bores in the top of block are smooth & not burned in areas from fire getting under the liner at some time. Also don,t use grease on the seals on installing but at the dealer we always used white Lubra-Plate but guys on here have used waterless hand soap but I never did.You need to also lube the bottom bores where the seals go in & it will take some pressure to press them down in so even a block of wood & heavy hammer will set them down in but a bar of steel & span across two studs & draw them down is the way we did it at the shop & Cat later came out with a press tool to set them down in.Should be easy once you get the knack of it. The liner should be above the block with the specs. I gave you & not below.

    Default Crankshaft

I don,t have any specs on the gas job but the D3400 is 2.750" for the mains & the clearance is .006" to .0085" with a max of .015" & the rods are 2.625" .0055" to.008" clearance with max of .013" & the rod torque is 58 lbs. & the mains are 90 lbs.Tighten them to the torque & advance to the next cotter pin hole if it doesn,t line up but don,t loosen to get the hole lined up.
