    Default Cat (High) Ten questions

Who is making the reproduction gas caps? Cost?

I purchased new brass plates from Huff, however what type of Rivots/ brass tacks should I use, and where would I get them? Any particular size?

Does anyone have the Color Code for the red paint, or the mixing formula from a paint store? How about an extra color ship that the ACMOC use to sell?

Who makes the duckbill precleaner for the ten? Cost?

The 100% rebuild of my Caterpillar high ten PT3840 is nearly complete!

    Matt,

John Matta from Riverside, CA makes the Cat Ten gas cap. I'll attach his parts list if I can. In the event I can't, his address follows.

Good luck on the restoration and have a great weekend,
    Tom

PS: File size is to big but you can contact him by phone via the address. Sorry I don't have John's phone number handy.

    Matt,
There are several people that are reproducing the duck buill intake. Carl Soderberg (Sandman) is one of them. I also think Jim Zimmerman is making them. I think they are going in the $100 range.

As far as the red color code goes, give this guy a call. His name is Eugene. 641-228-4558

The rivots are actually little brass nails. You drive them through the brass plates and through the holes in the seat back and then just bend them over. Your back seat cushion covers them up. I would strongly encourage you to predrill the holes in your new plates and make sure that they line up real nice with the holes in your seat back.

Matt, I used Dupont Nason Ful-cryl II. Spectramaster red. It is a stock color that I matched to the decals I got from ACMOC. Hope this helps. Rick catrjw@aol.com

    Matt,

Which brass plates did you get from Huff?
were they the instruction plates for the back of the seat?
    I could do with some.

    regards Richard.

I also have a full set. They look really good, but like Matt has said they are not 100% like the originals, but way better than what I had which was nothing.
