    Default For the larger stuff.....

I paid a visit yesterday to the Fresno Tractor boneyard! Oh Boy! Nothing earlier than D2s that I could see but D4, D6, D7, D8 and D9 carcasses were well represented plus IHC and AC in great numbers. Contact Carl Urive 559-233-2174 or curive@fresnotractor.com. I got two nice used carrier rollers for my 14A D8 from him. DSCF6095.jpgDSCF6097.jpg

Just a note: I was looking for some parts a year ago or so (might have been 2-3) and called John Matta in Riverside. He said he was out of the business. Seems somebody came in and offered him a good price for his whole bone yard of old cats and since he was getting up in years, he decided to take their offer.
A few days later they showed up with a bunch of low-beds and started loading everything up. He asked them where they were going to take it all so he could refer his customers. They said it was all going to be shipped to China for scrap!!!!
We both damn near cried on the phone.

That's s sounds ridiculous. This thread is a good source for those who are looking for parts. Does anybody know any good suppliers around Arlington VA?

anybody have experience getting new clutch/brake handle grips?
I'm guessing they're the same for different machines, but specifically need them for d7, d6, d2.

Just returned from Williams Field Service, Highway 2 West, Havre, Montana, 59401, with a nicely rebuilt D73T pony and some other parts. Dave Williams has acres of vintage Cat dozers, graders, and other machines, some running and for sale, many good parts machines, and bins of parts inside his large shop where he repairs anything diesel. 30 years of collecting Cats, and a Cat employee for 10 years before that. very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. loves the old machines. 406-233-8484.
