I'm looking at a D8 2U and the rail height is 4 5/8 inches. What should the rail height be when the rails are new? What is the percentage rate on these rails at 4 5/8 inches?

RD-7, it depends on the link numbers but here's a couple of measurements
link * 2H953/4 - new link height 4.75" - 100% worn 4.38"
7H3799/800 - new link height 4.88" - 100% worn 4.55"
Hope this helps. cheers Al![]()
Can you get a link part #?....I show three different height rails that were available. The oldest (and lowest orig. height) is a 2H953-54)......started out at 4.75 in. and .37 allowable
% worn = amt. worn/allowable = 34% worn in this case.
I can get a part number one of these days for the link. These are the early style rails that the 1H's, 8R's and 2U's had.
So is there 3 different rail heights for the same pitch rails?
Yes, all three are for 8 in. pitch.
Two have been covered, the third is a #1S8839 & 40
New height is 4.97 in. allowable wear is 0.380 in.
Thanks for your help...It looks like I need to get the part number off of the links to get an accurate figure...
