Hydraulics is one of those areas where you can easily find aftermarket parts or if not the specific rings you need, perhaps a replacement piston which takes something that's available today.

What you will most likely need to do for something that old is disassemble it and take to a hydraulic rebuilder or machine shop that does that kind of work and see what can be gotten for it.

I have a set of catalogs for Hercules Bulldog hydraulic components with innumerable different seal types and sizes of each.

If the bores of the barrel aren't galled up, I would recommend switching from piston rings to a poly-pak type of seal. Bulldog should be able to get the size you need. Some machining will be required to modify the piston. If there are scratches in the barrel, go with old fashioned fiber cups. If the rings have square cut ends, they will drift no matter what you do. There are some cylinders with the metal rings that have a special end that interlocks, to minimize bypass. Those work ok, but I doubt that they are available for 5 inch..I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time).
