    My new RD6

Here are some pictures of the RD-6 I bought recently. I drove it for the first time today, despite the chilly temperatures it fired right up and ran very well. If the snow ever melts I'll see how it does pulling the plow through the field.

Hey that looks nice. So far I've been content with my 8T and 70D motor graders, but everytime I see new pictures of crawlers, I feel this burning lust that says I need to get one.

Congratulations Toby! I have an RD6 widegauge that is an ag tractor, and it is a favorite of mine. They make a nice sound with the 3 cylinders. I will say, though, that a D6 9U is much better balanced and handles better too. But I like those old RDs. GWH

Nice Looking RD6 I guess its a Wide Gauge with Bee Gee Hyd Pump on the rear, If that Machine is in Original Condition ? I would keep it that Way , Its a real Nice Example. I own a 1936 D6 2H Standard Gauge Ex-Farm, its running and I am actually still working it to a point LOL Whats your Serial No.?

George, yeap the RD6 sounds nice, when you drop off the pony motor , I had a move around in the shop last year. I had running at the same time, the Diesel 35, the Diesel 40, and the Diesel RD6 They all have a different tone to the Exhaust Note due to Cylinder Bore Etc. If you are ever passing Call In.

Thanks, guys. Catman, if my memory is correct it is 2H3072, I should check again but I think that's it. Right now it is sitting in a safe spot a few miles from home, because of the spring thaw the driveway was too soft for the hauler to get into without sinking. When things dry up it will make it the rest of the way.

Nice looking RD6. I have a question for you or anyone that wants to wade in, I notice that yours has an "RD6" radiator and the forged body fuel injection pumps. Some where, I thought that the "RD6" radiator went with the "Flange type" fuel pumps. I don't have a RD6 parts book that would lay all that out for me. Just interest in details. B.W.

I have considered the change from RD6 to D6 at the change in the parts books. First book from 2H1-3247 and the second book from2H3248-8966 the end of production. The parts book change was at the change in fuel systems among other changes. The top tank and side plates changed at 2H4061. It is all still a question. The gear shift change was at 2H2866.

This crawler has had an engine swap at one time because the engine and rear end tags have different numbers, so the injection equipment you mentioned is not factory original to this machine.
