DW10 serial No,s

Hello All, Hope all had a wonderfull Easter break!, Can somebody please give me info on the DW10 serial #s , as ..when did the later ones(with the later radiator} etc.. come out , were they 6V and were the early ones 1N ??. Many Thanks for reply. I am going to look out for aquiring a late one when i get time etc..& come back to CA ! Regards, Peter. downunder !!

According to the Cat SNID book it shows the 1N came out in 1941 at 1N2001 till 1N3000 and then the 6V came out at 6V5001 in 1942 and then the 1V came out in 1947 at 1V 0001 and up. That,s all the Cat SN book shows on it.

Many Thanks Bruce and SJ for your good info !. Some time ,in near future,, i will be looking for a 115 hp. later 1V serial # machine. What do you all think the chancers are of finding a good mobile one with box in CA. !?. Thankyou all again for any help. Regards. Pete.

I don,t know about Ca. but here in NE Pa. you never seen an old DW10 around.Working for the dealer starting in the middle 50s I can,t recall seeing but a couple ever around here. We sold many DW21s and a few DW20s and later the big ones like the 631s and 641s and 657s that were used in the coal strippings and on the interstate roads starting to be built back at that time.One outfit from N.C. Nello Teer built a flood control dam near here and they had a big fleet of DW20s on the job that we kept running for them.
