Caterpillar Inlet Manifolds for Gas 35/40 & R5 are GO

Update on my Caterpillar Recast Manifolds, the same spec as New with the correct depth and profile on the inner casting and jacket etc, I recon if you are going to make tooling for a new one, then you might as well go all the way and make it genuine to the manufactures spec and detail.

I am looking to cast a couple of extra ones to help my tooling up costs, there are going to be 2 different castings when finished, the one for the Gas 35/40 and the larger one for the R5.

I am attaching a couple of photos to show the Extent of the tooling up 200 hours of labour for a pattern maker was a rought estimate.

Restoring a Cat is one thing, But actully making the Parts is a Project on its own

looks like some nice work there with patterns and core boxes,
it's only when you start a project like that, that you appreciate the work
and skill involved by the pattern maker, I have made some basic patterns
to reproduce fuel strainers for Cat Ten's and Primers for the vac pump on
a Sixty, I am currently working on a pattern fo the vaporiser body and cap
for my Massey Harris GP, it's a labour of love!
