LaPlante-Choate hydraulic pump coupling single double roller chain

In thread Front Hyd Pump, http://www.acmocbb.org/ACMOC_BB/show...light=ARC+5016 post #2 carlsharp lists the part number for this oddball chain as ARC 5016 but does not mention the source.

Does anyone know of the source for this coupling chain?

The splined shaft is firmly rusted into the coupling half at he pump and engine. The chain at the pump end has been sitting in water for a while and could tolerate replacement. The standard 50-2 double strand chain will not fit between the outside of the radiator and the pump housing without machining on the coupling.

A picture being worth a thousand words, I went out and took one. The coupling chain is made from the standard parts of #50-2 chain but the center plates are not used and the pins are shorter. This has to be out there somewhere but I do not have a clue where.

As Carl said, that is an obsolete coupling chain. Might start by contacting a Link Belt rep. or someone that handles obsolete inventory (didn't have much luck with a brief google search)

Did you try contacting Carl Sharp.....he seems to have disappeared also. Haven't seen a post in a long time.

Have not tried to contact Carl yet. He is running some auctions on eBay so he is still with us somewhere. Link-Belt couplings have been gobbled up by Rexnord and I will call the local rep Monday. That will probably go nowhere though.
