I am busy working on 5 cat 30's at present, and I have a Tailseat RD4 4G 1936/37 taking up room in the Catcave, the RD4 is one from the Woodlands Collection and has always been barn stored, I cannot put this cat outside under a sheet, its spent all its life indoors warm, Its present owner is Snr Catman. we have decided to get the RD4 Tailseat out of the Cat-Cave, to free up spare, and get her out at shows restored by this coming mayI get some needed Space in my Shop.
I need some help, This project has Jumped the Query of Restoration Jobs, I dont have a Parts book for an RD4 4G 1936/37?? , Is the engine a Wet Liner Motor ?? if so Can I get Cylinder Sealing Rings Etc ???? the cat looks good, but I would perfer to strip her down and check bearing / gears in tranny/ finals, and check the engines, I could use a Good Parts Pony Motor ???, the Pony on the cat has been welded from frost cranking, which normally indicates cylinder bore Ovality from the welding process etc.
Any Photos and Scans from any Cat Sales Docs on the Tailseat RD4 4G would be usefull.
