Thank you Erik. Actually, I bought the magazine several weeks ago and forgot to mention the article on this bb. I urge everyone to go out and buy the magazine and have the article permanently in their collection. GWH

To bad our magazine has gone so far down hill in the last few months that we do not have any good articles like the one Lorry Donning did for Antique Power Magazine.

I guess that I am not the only one thinking what you are, about the club mag. I got my November/December issue just over two weeks ago, not sure what happen with the delivery time.
There is ONE article in the mag and it is on Dave Smith, one page Never had the chance to meet Dave Smith, but with all that I have herd, I would like to think that he has done a lot more than one page to write about
There is the write up on the Canandaigua show, with a few pics, and if you did not go to the show you would think that the pics in the mag were the only machines there. On page 20 and 21 you have three pics of the same machines . . Come on, we all know that Dave is a great guy with a collection that most of us could only dream about having, but there were a lot of other nice machines and the picture love could have been spread around a bit better.
Without great articles and write ups that make the magazine, we might as well just get pics from the bigger collectors fill the pages and then at least we could receive the magazine twelve times a year Just my thoughts, I know we only have so much room in the mag just think that we can do better

Jason, It is my understanding that Clem sent in a full spread sheet with a list of owners and info on all the photo's he took at the show. Apparently the information he sent in was not used.

to my knowledge, the ACMOC mag is open to what ever information you would like to share, if you want more articles about a certian topic send them in, all information is not bad information just some is better than others.
Just contact Kevin at the number below and he will answer any questions you may have.

    jason,
i forgot to mention that the Dave smith page mat have been a last min. addition depending on the timing of his death and the publishing date? But i do agree that a more detailed article about his accomplishments should be shared with all of the ACMOC readers.

I would like to see Dave on the cover of the club magazine with pictures of the Caterpillars that he liked to be around so much.

First of all I am not directing my comment towards anyone person(s)but towards the membership as a whole.Jeff and Jason I do agree with both of you pretaining to the quality of the magazine. It seems like there are more advertizment then there are articles. This is where the whole membership is to blame including myself. The only reason there aren't more articles is because the members don't send them in.I was thinking here outloud that Cat Inc. has publish many dfferent newspapers and various magazines, there must be some retired people that may be able to write some articles for the our magazine. Maybe some more members will write some.I have seen that article about the Holt tractor and was taken back that it didn't appear in our magazine, what better place then a antique Caterpillar magazine to read about the Holt.Again this is just my own comments and they are not being directed towards anyone. Thanks to all for reading this and hopefully we will inprove the magazines.Mike Durkin

What I forgot to menition was on the article about Dave Smith. You could devoted a whole magazine on what Dave ment to the club and most of all the members and that wouldn't be enough space.I knew Dave well and would talk to him at various show and over the phone and believe me there was noone that would have given more of their time to help someone with anything then Dave. Thanks again Mike Durkin
