    Default Non Cat Clunkers

I was at a junk yard the other day and found these non-cat machines. Must have been turned in on the Obama's "Cash for Clunkers" program. lol Here a link to some pictures. Can anybody identify them? I think the Cletrac is a model AD but not sure of the year. If you can tell me where the serial numbers are on these machines I can get them. They are for sale at 15 cents a pound. http://s896.photobucket.com/albums/a...bum_view_click

    Default Cletracs

I just can,t get the pictures to come up but I worked for a Cletrac and Massey Harris dealer from 1948 till 1951 and he sold the Cletrac A tractors at that time and the other models esp. the farm models the HG-42s and HG-68s.My dad had a DDH Cletrac and it had a Hercules Diesel in it.It didn,t have the pushing power it needed so my cousin changed the gearing in it and boy made a new tractor out of it, lots of power then.

I saw a Cletrac, a IH, and an AC. The tracks on the IH, I think it was, looked good. At least the pads did. The Cletrac appeared to be complete and worth saving. The others probably too far gone. GWH

Here are the pictures of the IH and AC. The AC has really nice grouser on it. The IH has street pads on it. At 15 cents per lb, the scrap value may exceed the value to a restorer.

    340 rails

catman, I had a vermeer trencher 600 C,and I think a undercarraige place told me that they used the same rail as the IH 340. I updated trencher rather than hunt down good rails, as they told me new rails were unavailable. might keep a eye open for trencher also.

Catman580-They will sell parts of the cats, but at a higher price per lb and I think you have to remove the parts. I will ask them and let you know.
