How to change a D6 9U gearbox seal ?

Hello , if i look into the parts book , i see that if i wanted to change the seal from the gearbox that i have to pull out the yoke (with a long shaft), and now iam afraid that the gears and rings will fall down .

Is there a easy way, so that i do not have to open the gearbox?
