Nice looking KW you have there. What engine does it have in it? Paccar maker of Peterbilt and Kenworth started using another engine as they were a big user of Cat truck engines and Cat gave up the truck engine business about Jan.1st. 2009 and I,ll never know why.The guys at the Cat dealer told me why they thought but I didn,t buy it.It was something to do with emissions they clamed.Seems like they could have taken care of it as other makers have got their truck engines set up for the Govt. Specs for emissions.Must be more to it than that.Of all the truck engines Cat made I just loved the old 1693 which was the basic D343 which was used in the first 988 loaders and some other Cat equip. and they had duel overhead camshafts in them. They weren,t the easiest on fuel and a little slow on take off but from there they were a bomb of an engine. The normal high HP was 425 for the TA but it was easy to get a 100 more HP than that. I rebuilt one for a local guy here that had 880,000 miles on it and I didn,t touch the fuel setting as he had it set up higher and when I dyno tested it it easily pulled 550 HP with no sweat.

It is a cat powered cat hauler. Powered by a 3406 B air to water. The truck is an 85 W900. As far as the cat engines my uncle has an 08 w900 kw and has had it back 4 times for emission problems with the burner on the cat engine.
