i'm in the south which is 1200kms from the Kingdom at a convention. yes a convention where i have to wear fancy clothes and eat food with lots of forks. to escape this up class thing i went out in the dark and looked at a d6 9u. it is an early model because it has the levers on the outside of the engine which is the right side when sitting in the seat. i could not get a serial number off the machine but the dry clutch means it is early.

here is a picture of the city from my fancy motel room.

Hi KoO,
That's a 4R/5R model with D4600.....not "U" model that came next.
4R is wide gauge, can't tell for sure from your pictures?
What city are you in?

back in the Kingdom after a week in the south enjoying fine food. yes egoman is a big fellow and made short work of the ribs at montanas steak house, lol.

i mailed the cheque today for the d6 4r. i just could notpass it up since it was from the 1940s.

old magnet, the blade has inside frame rails which will make a nice 6 way blade i hope. there was too much dirt and ruct on the serial number tags to tell me what it was. once again i'm learning which is a good sign at my age, lol.

Hey King, friend of mine had a TD-18 with an 8 foot inside mount blade. It had a U.S. Navy data plate, rigid track frames and loops on track frames so crane could load it onboard ships I guess. Strange beast, hard to operate and a rough ride.

That's kinda odd to have the push arms inside back then. Are they mounted to the track truck or the tractor frame like on the Balderson units?

That's a nice looking setup you have there KoO.
I am liking the angle blade, should be nice for snow removal if you leave it on.
Have you got it home yet...is it running yet.
Umm I guess not.
It looks like it needs a little love.
Shouldn't take you long.

Thanks Josh,
I can see the truck mounting brackets. Looks a little worse for weather but it appears to be all there.

Testimonials

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
