OM,
Thank you, for the newbies that haven't been around tracks this is a good primer.
I could see a "how to" folder that helps all. How to: remove a pony, How to:install a direct start, How to: audit an undercarriage etc.
Well done

Hi Catmandu,
Yes, that was my intent, to get some visuals out there for those that are unfamiliar with undercarriage. The pictures are not exactly laid out the way I would like but I'm still getting used to the editing function. I have plenty more pictures, specifications and a complete Cat Inspection and appraisal guide that I may eventually post, but not until some form of archive is established. The direct start conversion material already exists and is accessed through imageshack. Somehow the link got lost in the shuffle of re-registering but I will put it back in my profile information. Thanks for the comments.

Beautiful job its good to see this very valuable info. on here. I am sure many will put it to good use. As I sure will try to save it some how.
For me this is what is what this site needs. As catmandu suggests the other files woud be very valuable also if they to can be put on here. I hope to see them soon.

Is there a specified service limit to a rails thickness?Do the older machines have heavier or lighter rails? How would newer rails interchange with a Cat 30?
The photos are great. It is easy to compare them to each other.
