D8H Refurb in Devon was created by iceman
Hi all,

Just thought I would post some photos I took earlier in the year of a Cat D8H 68A which is being refurbished in the English Westcountry Town of Okehampton.
It is owned and operated by local groundwork contractor Ross Cambell who is also doing the refurbishment.
He told me that it's previous user was an owner operator from Plymouth and that prior to that the machine had spent most of it's life somewhere in Wales.

I hope to pop out to see how it is coming along soon.

Regards

Nick "The Iceman"

Okehampton, I know it pretty well.we once demolished a wall there by accident. The blade of a euclid dozer clipped the wall when we were transporting it from Bude to Exeter.Did that D8 belong to Harvey plant at some time?

Hi Martyn,

Well Nothing changes much here in Okehampton its like the land that time forgot!! My late Father was "Oke" born & bred but he moved to Southampton because of the lure of big bucks before I was born, We used to come down here alot for holidays and now for the love of a woman I am back to my roots!!

I am not sure who the previous owners of the 8 were, I sometimes find it difficult to get as much information as I would like from owners as I think they cannot always understand that some people are just very interested in the old kit, I guess some of them think you may be snooping around for other reasons!! or they think we are the machine equivellent of a train spotter!!

Regards

Nick
