Got some work done on my canopy, like everything else just a lot of time, welding and grinding.

Looks really nice. Great to keep the operator station dry(er) too when you have to store it outside. Are you going to do some logging with that machine?

You probably have a plan but I recommend reinforcement plates where it mounts to the fenders. They shake around a lot and will crack apart those nice rebuilt fenders without extra meat. Or rubber mounts.

I'm not going to log with it just trying to put it back the way it was when it came to me. I'll probably pull some logs and push some brush with it but I have other machines for the real work.

I understand about the canopy mounts. The sweeps are hooked to the grill guard which is hooked to the radiator mount at the same connection point as the crankcase guard. The first mount on the fender is bolted through the bracket and angle iron reinforcements. The rear mounts are going to be bolted through the rod on the top of the winch. It's not a ROPS but it should keep rain and a wayward branch off the operator

Thanks Russ I hope at least some of the pictures and information will be helpful to someone.
I used 2 in tube on the new canopy. The last one had 1 1/2 in pipe and looked ok size . I was afraid anything bigger would be out of proportion. The sweeps really brought the height of the canopy down.

When you get the chance, could post a few more pictures of the details of how you will fasten the front to the radiator guard? I hope to try to build something like yours, although mine will probably look like it was cobbled together compared to your beautiful construction.

I can get some pictures of what I did. The grill guard on my tractor is bolted to the radiator shroud on the top and to the mounting point on the bottom which makes it pretty sturdy. You can hook to the bottom mounting point if your guard doesn't bolt to it.
The rear mount is where the problem is because it's just the unsupported fender that you need to hook to. If you dont have the winch to hook to you can hook to the draw bar mount.

Here's a couple of pictures of my mounting points. I never really had trouble with the sweeps or the front mounts on my old canopy but the rear mounts tore everything else up.
The crossbar on the rear mount is what actually supports the back of the canopy, the fender brackets just add a little stability. If you have the crankcase guard it really stiffens everything up

Little more work on the undercarriage. Following the Caterpillar literature I welded the shells to my first sprocket. I had an extra link from the tracks I'm using and tried them for fit, seems good.
