I will start this post with some background. This weekend I removed the engine from my D4 SN 7U43126 and I damaged the oil pickup line that connects the oil pump on the clutch to the pickup that is bolted to the bottom of the transmission case. The manuals I have do not mention anything about this line in the procedure in fact the manual does not mention anything about the oil pump on the clutch period. The manual I have says it is a "Servicesmens Reference Book". The book says it does cover the 7U serial number. The form number is 30521. My question is did the book evolve from year to year? The book I have was possibly printed in 1953 and my tractor is a 1959. Did the form number change from year to year? If so does anyone have a list of form numbers or can I get that info from Cat? There are a lot of service books on Ebay but it is hard to tell when they were printed and if they would work for my machine. Also, the "Servicemen's Reference Book" is somewhat lacking. Aside from the engine service manual and the operators manual is that it? Is there any other manuals out there? Normally these things are called service manuals not reference books. Below is a link for the book I am using and some pics of the torn line. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Also, I guess I should ask now before Cat tells me this line is NLA. Does anyone have one of these lines they would sell?

Removal of the suction line is referred to in the "Servicemen's Reference Book" for the D4, Form #30521-2 printed 1957.
Although it states to remove the suction line before removing the clutch it does not warn about the bolt holding the suction bell. This step is often overlooked resulting in the damaged line thus making it very difficult to find replacements.

Was Form 30521-2 the last version for the 7U series? I saw some forms with the numbers 30522-02 and FEO30521-2.

FEO30521-2 would be a Final Edition of the D4 Service Manual.
30522-2 is the second edition of the Diesel Engine 4-1/2 bore 4-cyl.

Thank you so much for your help! I found an additional manual with form number SENR4694. Have you heard of that one? Do you know what the final edition of the engine service manual form number would be?

Also for future reference if anyone comes across this thread. The tube that I broke Cat PN 4H-4858 / 4H4858 is no longer available from Cat. I guess I will have the machine shop make it.

If that was mine I would braze the pieces back together with no worries.

SENR4694 is another D4 Service Manual covering 4G, 7J, 2T, 5T, 6U, 7U. I don't have this version so I can't tell you if it has info on the oil clutch and when it was published.
I have a JENSALES manual that lists all the models but when you check it's still the 30521-2 version of 1957
